1917

1917

During World War I, two British soldiers -- Lance Cpl. Schofield and Lance Cpl. Blake -- receive seemingly impossible orders. In a race against time, they must cross over into enemy territory to deliver a message that could potentially save 1,600 of their fellow comrades -- including Blake's own brother.

A masterpiece by Sam Mendes based on his Grandfather's tales about things which happened during WWI. Saw this epic movie late after the Oscars yet in a packed Theater.1917 is an example of perfection. This movie is a masterpiece of Direction and perfect Cinematography.

The Cinematography by Roger Deakins is incredible. The whole movie is One-Shot movie or at least it was made in such a way with clever long shots and incredible editing that it shot in a single take. The continuous unbroken shots worked well and was immersive for the audience. The Musical Score by Thomas Newman is beautifully composed and goes well with the film.

What Deakins pulled off is impressive especially with Ă‰coust at night being lit by fire and flares was stunning. The camera for the whole film was focused on two Protagonists and has induced empathy due to the depiction of War through their expression and the acts committed during the war.

It's immersive, gripping, realistic, captivating and intense.Definitely worth watching it.
